Welcome

We would like to welcome all new and returning students, potential students, and our many guests to our website.

This website is designed to provide both current and prospective students with course schedules, registration instructions, syllabi, contact information and office hours, and general program requirements. For the prospective student the site has information on applying to the University, the School of Education, and the VITP, as well as providing the information needed to make a decision as to whether the VITP is right for them.

News

Teacher Licensure Fast Track - Are you interested in adding Visual Impairments to your existing teaching certificate? Are you needing 1 or 2 classes to finish your coursework for licensure? Are you looking for an alternative to traditional college courses? Our Fast Track Program may be for you. PERMANENT More Information....

Registration & Grading Clarification - As with many universities, NCCU has several registration systems (depending on the course offered, and how it is delivered to the student). Students may need to register through University College if the course is identified as an "01D" distance education offering, or they may need to register through the University's general registration system for all other classes. Additionally, Blackboard "registration" may be required for courses using that method of delivery (which in itself does NOT indicate distance education), as the VITP does for many of its classes. Registration via the University's two registration systems does not automatically "enroll" one for Blackboard - Blackboard "enrollment" simply allows access to Blackboard. Likewise, being "enrolled" in Blackboard does not indicate registration at the University-level - if credit or a grade is required, registration MUST go though one of the University's two systems.

Grading for ANY class is official ONLY by means of the University's systems, NOT within Blackboard (a grade posted within Blackboard does not mean the grade has been posted at the University level, and a grade NOT posted within Blackboard does not mean a grade has, or has not, been posted at the University level). Blackboard is a delivery method for a course, and is completely separate (at this time) from the official University systems.

If you have any questions, please contact your Faculty Advisor. PERMANENT
